O’DONNELL CALLS FOR THREE DEBATES WITH MAYOR DAVIS

BAYONNE – Jason O’Donnell today called on Mayor Jimmy Davis to debate him in the three wards across the city in advance of May 8th’s municipal election.

“Since this campaign began we have heard from thousands of residents throughout the city unhappy with Jimmy Davis’ leadership.  Instead of continuing to duck behind his many taxpayer funded, out of town mouthpieces, Mayor Davis should accept my offer to debate me in the three wards across the city.

My team and I have already attended almost twenty Q and A sessions in people’s homes, we’ve been knocking on doors and talking to neighbors throughout the city and we’ve been holding weekly informational sessions at campaign headquarters.  Mayor Davis has been running to photo ops and trying to convince people that his tax breaks for wealthy developers and taxpayer funded lawsuit settlements are somehow good news for anyone besides his friends.

Voters deserve to hear from us directly on what we will both do as mayor about the many issues facing our city as well as on our overall vision for Bayonne’s long-term future.  Jimmy showed four years ago he will say anything to be elected before immediately going back on his word.  As a life-long resident of this city raising his own family in the dark cloud of this mayor’s bad decisions, I’m sure that’s just one of the many things people would like to know more about.”
