O’DONNELL CAMPAIGN HAND DELIVERS LETTER TO DAVIS CAMPAIGN AGAIN CALLING FOR AT LEAST THREE DEBATES

BAYONNE – A representative from Jason O’Donnell’s campaign for mayor today hand delivered a letter to Jimmy Davis’ campaign again requesting at least three debates, one in each ward of the city, in advance of May 8th’s municipal election.  O’Donnell’s request last week to give people throughout the city the opportunity to hear both candidates on the issues was ignored by Mayor Davis.

“Jimmy Davis is ducking us on debates,” said O’Donnell.  “People would like to hear the Mayor’s rationale for giving away our city and sticking us all with a Jimmy Davis Tax for generations, but he simply doesn’t care.  Jimmy’s tax breaks for rich developers, his lawsuit settlements we all have to pay, and even his refusal to put the most basic requirements in place for his wealthy developer friends to make sure Bayonne jobs go to Bayonne residents are all things voters have expressed concerns about.  It seems Jimmy’s 15 years spent living in Rahway and his time palling around with the Business Administrator from Somerset County he hired to run our city has made him forget that here in Bayonne we answer for our actions and we don’t ignore the people we are supposed to serve.”
