OUTSIDE DELANEY HALL, VETERAN BRONZE STAR RECIPIENT ZACH BEECHER DEMANDS ITS CLOSURE FOLLOWING HORRIFYING DEATH
SLAMS TRUMP ADMINISTRATION, AND DEMANDS BARI WEISS RELEASE CECOT REPORT OR RESIGN
NEWARK, NJ – Outside Delaney Hall, Paratrooper and candidate for NJ-11 Zach Beecher joined an interfaith group to provide warm drinks, food, and clothing to those waiting in the long line in the cold to see their loved ones. Beecher went to Delaney Hall following the horrifying death of a migrant detained there under the Trump administration.
“This facility needs to be shut down,” said Beecher.
Beecher slammed the Trump administration and talked about why he’s running for Congress to stop these abuses.
“It’s not the country I fought for. These are not the principles that we live by and fundamentally we can and we must be better.”
Beecher consistently emphasizes on the campaign trail that Congress must immediately pass comprehensive immigration reform. Beecher is ready to fight for comprehensive immigration reform in Congress.
Coming amid the decision by CBS Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss to pull a 60 Minutes investigative piece on El Salvador’s CECOT prison where the Trump administration is sending migrants, Beecher further expressed his outrage at the Trump administration’s clamp down on free speech.
“This is a reflection of how far this administration will go to hide the truth. We demand that that segment be made public and available and aired here in the United States, or Bari Weiss should resign. There is no place for attacking our freedom of speech.”
