PASCRELL ENDORSED BY CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
Legendary organization backs long record fighting for equal justice
PATERSON, N.J. – The Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee announced its endorsement of Congressman Bill Pascrell, Jr.’s campaign for Congress.
“The fight for the empowerment of our African American communities remains one of the most important missions of our leaders in the United States Capitol,” said CBCPAC Chairman Gregory Meeks. “Representing one of America’s most diverse districts, Bill Pascrell understands that only when all of us are on the same footing can America be truly equal. Throughout his career, Bill Pascrell has a stalwart ally and a tireless fighter against injustice, a powerful counsel for the powerless, a wise advocate for minority opportunity, and a fierce enemy of sinister voter suppression. Our organization is delighted to offer our full endorsement of Bill Pascrell’s campaign for Congress. His voice is needed in Washington.”
“The Congressional Black Caucus is the conscience of the United States Congress. As a member of the House I have always stood in awe of the CBC’s vibrant legacy and so I am humbled to accept CBCPAC’s endorsement,” said Congressman Pascrell. “There can be no question that full and equal justice for all African Americans remains elusive. To achieve that dream, we must reauthorize the Voting Rights Act, we must safeguard every American’s civil rights at all times, and we must finally end institutional racism that limits opportunities for our African American friends, family, and loved ones.”
The Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee is an independent, nonpartisan, not-for-profit membership organization formed as the advocacy and political arm of the Congressional Black Caucus. The CBCPAC works to increase the number of African Americans in the U.S. Congress, and supports non-Black candidates that champion its interests and promote African American participation in the political process.
