Pascrell Reacts to NAFTA Report

PATERSON, NJ – Today, U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ-09), a member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Trade, reacted to a report issued by the International Trade Commission on the likely impacts of a renegotiated North American Free Trade Agreement.

“While the ITC predicts only moderate growth from the new NAFTA, I welcome that they’ve attempted to assess the impacts on jobs and wages in the United States, as I asked them to do in my testimony before the Trade Commission last year. We must determine whether the new NAFTA will create jobs in the US and stem the flow of outsourcing. Anything less would be a failure and a nonstarter in Congress. Let’s see more.”
