PASSAIC COUNTY ANNOUNCES SPECIAL TESTING DATE FOR SCHOOL EMPLOYEES

(Passaic County, New Jersey) – The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders announced their mobile testing dates for October last week. A special testing site for school employees has been added for October 17th, 10:00AM – 2:00PM at 401 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, NJ.

The testing will be in conjunction with the Passaic County Education Association. This special testing site is open to only school employees who work at any Passaic County School District. An employee I.D. will be required.

“While we are continuing to offer free testing to all Passaic County residents via our mobile and at-home testing programs, we thought it was important to make special arrangements for our educators because they are interacting directly with our children on a daily basis. By offering special testing for teachers and school employees, we are taking preventative measures in keeping both our students and educators safe and healthy as we slowly transition back into normalcy,” stated Passaic County Freeholder Director Sandi Lazzara.

The free COVID-19 test will be a saliva test and will follow the same procedures as the County’s mobile testing sites. A prescription and health insurance are not required. Employees should bring a tablet or phone for registration, and must not eat, drink or smoke thirty minutes prior to testing.

“PCEA is pleased to partner with the Passaic County Freeholders to offer testing to our education professionals. This testing opportunity will help safeguard the health of our members, their students, and their families,” stated Sue Butterfield, President of the Passaic County Education Association.
