Passaic County Democratic Committee Announces Open Application Process for County Commissioner Vacancy

WOODLAND PARK, NJ (July 2, 2026) — Passaic County Democratic Chairman John Currie today announced that the Passaic County Democratic Committee is accepting letters of interest and résumés from individuals interested in being considered to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Passaic County Commissioner John Bartlett.

Individuals interested in being considered are invited to submit a letter of interest and résumé to the Passaic County Democratic Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

"Our organization has always believed in an open, thoughtful, and transparent process," said Chairman Currie. "We encourage qualified individuals who are interested in serving the people of Passaic County to come forward and participate."

Under New Jersey law, the Passaic County Democratic Committee will meet at a convention scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, 2026, to select a Democratic nominee to fill the vacancy.

"We encourage anyone interested in public service and committed to Democratic values to participate," Currie said. "Passaic County has benefited from dedicated public servants for generations, and we look forward to considering individuals who want to continue that tradition."
