Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern NJ President and CEO joins Governor-Elect Murphy’s transition team

Triste Brooks will represent women’s rights in the restoration of affordable, quality health care
TRENTON, NJ — Triste Brooks, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Northern, Central, and Southern New Jersey and the board chair for Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey, will join Governor-Elect Phil Murphy’s transition committee on health care, representing the interests of New Jersey women. Although she is a registered Republican, Brooks was an early supporter of Murphy because of his commitment to reproductive health and rights.
“It is a tremendous honor to serve on the transition committee and help guide New Jersey back on the right track when it comes to health care, especially reproductive health,” said Brooks. “My appointment shows that Governor-Elect Murphy is fully committed to making lifesaving reproductive health services available to women across the state.”
Before moving to New Jersey in 2009, Brooks was the chief operating officer of a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Florida. Prior to Planned Parenthood, Triste operated juvenile prisons and treatment programs specializing in serious habitual offenders and sexually aggressive youth in Florida and Maryland. She is a certified sexuality educator with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
“It’s time that New Jersey not only restores critical funding for health services, but leads when it comes to reproductive health,” said Brooks. “I look forward to working with Governor-Elect Murphy to make that happen.”
