Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey Launches Virtual Health Center

NEWARK, NJ– Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey (PPMNJ) is expanding our telemedicine offerings furthering our commitment to provide care – no matter what. PPMNJ is proud to launch our Virtual Health Center (VHC) to connect patients to trusted providers without having to visit in person.

Patients can now access a range of sexual and reproductive health services – including birth control, emergency contraception, trans/nonbinary hormone therapy, STI treatments, and more by secure video conferencing and telephone. PPMNJ’s new telehealth solution offers a much simpler way to access high-quality, compassionate, and affordable virtual care. To access the service, patients can simply book a virtual appointment by calling 973-622-3900. PPMNJ prides itself on providing the highest quality reproductive health care and family planning services to men and women regardless of age, ethnicity, or ability to pay.

Statement from Dr. Randa Francis-Nicholas, VP of Health Services, Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey:

“The need for care in our communities is extremely important to our health system. COVID-19 and the overturn of Roe v. Wade has taught us many lessons, including emphasizing the incredible resource and tool that telemedicine brings patients who seek the health care they need in the safest setting. PPMNJ will continue to find ways to break barriers to care and telehealth for all our communities and become more efficient in how healthcare is delivered across our centers.”

The VHC launch comes the same week as the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. While this Roe Anniversary marks a reminder of what we’ve lost, this is also a reminder that Roe was always the floor — not the ceiling — and now we must reimagine what is possible for our communities. A vision for the future that centers on those historically left behind will create a more equitable healthcare landscape for all.

Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan New Jersey empowers individuals to make voluntary, informed decisions about their reproductive lives by providing safe, affordable health care at our 6 health centers in Essex, Hudson, and Passaic counties, educational services, and championing public policies to make those services available for all. www.ppmnj.org
