Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey volunteers defend women’s health with Halloween themed phone banks

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Between the Trump administration’s attack on birth control access through health insurance provided by employers, and the Christie administration’s funding cuts of family planning programs and services, New Jersey women are up in arms — and they’re doing something about it. This upcoming weekend is the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of New Jersey (PPAFNJ) “Weekend of Action.” Planned Parenthood volunteers will work phone banks throughout the state, making calls to New Jersey voters to encourage them to support Phil Murphy, the only candidate running on the pledge to protect women’s health and access to birth control.

With Halloween right around the corner, supporters attending Weekend of Action phone banks will make it known that a future for New Jersey where women’s health services aren’t accessible is scary! In addition to the Weekend of Action, PPAFNJ will continue to host and sponsor events that raise the concerns and voices of New Jersey women through Election Day. New Jersey residents will find grassroots activists at train stations, knocking on doors and making phone calls. PPAFNJ and other women’s health and rights groups and advocates have been spearheading the #WomenForMurphy campaign, organizing debate watch parties and hosting “Take Action House Parties” to galvanize women across New Jersey.
