Professional Firefighters Association Endorses Laura Fortgang for State Assembly in 26th District

VERONA, NJ (Sept. 19, 2019)—Laura Fortgang, the Democratic challenger for New Jersey
State Assembly in the 26 th Legislative District, has earned the endorsement of the Professional
Firefighters Association of New Jersey.

The PFANJ, AFL-CIO is the chartered, statewide organization representing more than 4,000
active and retired professional firefighters, emergency medical and allied support services
personnel in New Jersey. It is affiliated with the 318,000- member International Association of
Firefighters.

“It is an incredible honor to have the support of our firefighters and first responders, who risk
their lives to keep us safe. They provide us all with the security and peace of mind of knowing
we can rely on these highly trained professionals in our most urgent times of need,” Fortgang
said. “As the recent remembrance of the 9-11 attacks signifies, our first responders make
tremendous sacrifices on our behalf. We must protect their right to binding arbitration and
make sure they have the health care they need and the pensions and secure retirement they’ve
earned protecting us,” Fortgang said.
