Prominent Democratic New Jersey Criminal Defense Attorney Leo Hurley Arrested for DWI in Wall Township
Wall Township, NJ — A prominent New Jersey criminal defense attorney, Leo Hurley, 48, of Wall, was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in the early morning hours of February 20, 2026, according to the Wall Township Police Department.
Police report that Hurley was taken into custody at approximately 1:56 a.m. following a motor vehicle accident on West Chicago Boulevard. He was processed and released in accordance with John’s Law.
Hurley is a well-known litigator in New Jersey and New York, with extensive experience in high-stakes civil and criminal cases. He currently serves as Co-Chair of his firm’s Commercial Litigation Group and has represented corporations, government officials, and individuals in complex legal matters, including white-collar criminal defense, financial fraud, and regulatory investigations.
A former Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor, Hurley has handled hundreds of felony cases and served as lead trial counsel in numerous jury and bench trials. His practice spans multiple sectors, including financial services, real estate, healthcare, energy, and the cannabis industry.
