PSE&G to Create Energy Efficient Upgrades in the Capital City

TRENTON, N.J. – Mayor Reed Gusciora, the City of Trenton, and PSE&G are partnering together to replace street lights with brighter lights throughout the City, particularly in residential areas. This is one of many initiatives the City of Trenton is rolling out to improve the safety and well-being of residents.

“This is a great working initiative between Trenton and PSE&G,” said Mayor Gusciora. “This free lighting upgrade creates a safer environment throughout the streets of the Capital City. We’ve recently replaced more than 90 lights, with hundreds more scheduled, and we are continuing to add more neighborhoods on our priority list.”

Most of the upgraded lights are energy-efficient LED lights. With PSE&G’s support, and community involvement, Trenton is prioritizing areas with the greatest need for lighting upgrades. Residents are encouraged to contact the City and report any dim or broken street lights by calling (609) 989-3809 or though the GovAlert app, available for free on iPhone and Android phones.
