PSEG and Trenton Service Crews Still Working to Restore Service, Clear Trees

Shelter Available Tomorrow for Residents Still without Power

Trenton, N.J. – While Tropical Storm Isaias has already passed through Trenton, 6,400 of our residents still don’t have electricity.

The City of Trenton is in constant contact with PSEG, which at this moment is focusing on high priority areas such as substations, large clusters of customers or areas with buildings offering critical care. Not only are we keeping them appraised of any assisted living or other facilities that still need help, our Trenton service crews are working round-the-clock clearing trees and other debris to help make way for repair crews.

Tomorrow morning, the city will also open Joyce Kilmer Elementary School at 1300 Stuyvesant Ave for residents who need access to food, air conditioning, and electricity to charge their phones or computers. Beds will also be available for those who need it. All the necessary COVID-19 precautions, including masks and social distancing will be in effect. Transportation is also available for residents that need it by calling 609-989-3801.

Additional resources and facilities will be made available as needed.

The City of Trenton asks that residents continue to report downed trees and weather-related incidents to the Office of Emergency Management at 609-989-4200.
