Quesada Mahmoud Campaign Release Joint Statement Regarding EDA Mismanagement
Quesada Mahmoud Campaign Release Joint Statement Regarding EDA Mismanagement
Guttenberg, NJ, Release: April 9, 2019. For Immediate Release
In response to a report by WNYC suggesting widespread corruption by the Christie administration through the Economic Development Authority (EDA), the Quesada Mahmoud campaign is outraged by these allegations and call for an immediate investigation by the Attorney General.
We, the hard-working taxpayers of New Jersey, are literally paying the price in millions in lost revenue to outright fraud and shameless “pay to play” corruption. At a time when taxes in NJ are the highest in the country, this kind of mismanagement is egregious and unacceptable. It is a basic tenet of democracy that the government uphold its contract to the People and earn the trust of the public, particularly in regards to tax revenue appropriations. This report is a perversion of democracy and a gross display of everything that’s wrong in New Jersey politics that the Quesada Mahmoud campaign is fighting against. We need the EDA Director and board to be held responsible for their fraudulent activity. At this moment, we support and insist on the resignation of the EDA Director and the board.
Mahmoud Mahmoud believes “The EDA was “mismanaged” under the Chris Christie Administration and we as taxpayers are literally paying the price in lost money to ineffective bureaucracy. The EDA has been corrupt, complacent and completely steered by wealthy corporations like Prudential, Honeywell and Campbell’s Soup”.
Democratic candidates Roger Quesada and Mahmoud Mahmoud strongly support the all efforts of the New Jersey Working Families Party, NJ Citizen Action, NJ Policy Perspective, Americans for Prosperity, Make the Road New Jersey, and NJ Work Environment Council and the growing list of organizations demanding an end to corporate greed. We demand accountability.
Roger Quesada and Mahmoud Mahmoud are both Democrats running to unseat incumbents in the June 4th Democratic Primary for General Assembly in legislative district 32.
Election day for the Democratic primary is Tuesday, June 4, 2019.
