Quijano on One Year Anniversary of Hurricane Maria

(Trenton) – Assemblywoman Annette Quijano (D-Union) released the following statement on the one year anniversary of the Hurricane Maria:

“It still saddens me to think of the devastation and destruction Hurricane Maria brought to Puerto Rico and its communities’ vibrant way of life just a year ago.  The lack of sympathy and support from the White House for the situation and people since September has only added insult to injury.

“Puerto Rico is still struggling. Maria was one of the worst storms in our nation’s history. It will take time but they will rebuild and they will need continued support. Thank you to the many New Jerseyans’ who have joined in relief efforts over the last year. As we’ve seen throughout the nation when disaster strikes, we stand together and lend a hand to our fellow citizens.”
