Ravi Bhalla for Congress Raised $396,458 in the Pre-Primary Report Period

Has Raised More than $2 million total

The Ravi Bhalla for Congress campaign today announced that as its pre-primary FEC report documents, it raised $396,458 for the period, and as of the end of the period had $384,534 cash on hand.  Nearly all of it was raised from individual donors.  In less than 9 months of fundraising, the campaign has raised more than $2 million.

“The differences between my campaign and Rob Menendez’s are night and day. My campaign is powered by individual contributions, while his continues to heavily rely on corporate PACs, lobbyists, and $20,000 from his father, Senator Bob Menendez, he has yet to refund. Residents of the district deserve a representative who isn’t beholden to special interest groups and party bosses.”

For the 6 weeks covered by the pre-primary report alone, Representative Rob Menendez Jr. raised $66,400 from PACS, including $26,000 from corporate PACS, and $10,400 from lobbyists.  This comes on top of $399,000 raised from PACs and lobbyists over the 2 quarters that preceded the pre-primary report period.

Ravi Bhalla is running in the Democratic Primary against the incumbent, Rob Menendez Jr. for New Jersey’s 8th Congressional district seat.
