Rep. Pascrell Statement on CBO Score for Senate Health Care Bill
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Bill Pascrell, Jr. (NJ-09), a member of the Ways and Means Committee, released the following statement in response to the report by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) on the Senate Trumpcare bill.
“Strike three. After issuing two devastating analyses of two different House bills, today’s nonpartisan CBO analysis found that the Senate bill repealing and ‘replacing’ the Affordable Care Act would cause 22 million Americans to lose their insurance by 2026. The CBO analysis proves that this bill isn’t about making the health care system work better for every day Americans; it’s about giving a massive tax break to the wealthiest Americans at the expense of devastating Medicaid, harming our hospitals and health care providers, and removing important consumer protections for seniors and individuals with pre-existing conditions. I call on Republicans to abandon this harmful bill and instead try to find bipartisan compromise to improve health care for Americans across the board.”
