Rep. Ro Khanna Endorses Megan O’Rourke in New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District
Andover, NJ – Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17) today endorsed Dr. Megan O’Rourke, a scientist, farmer, and labor leader, in New Jersey’s Democratic primary for the seventh congressional district.
“Dr. Megan O’Rourke saw firsthand the damage the Trump Administration has done to our country, and she decided to fight back and stand up for New Jersey families,” said Rep. Khanna. “Dr. O’Rourke is a scientist, a farmer, and a labor leader who has stood side by side with working families and fought to protect their rights. As former lead climate scientist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture she will bring unique expertise and vision to Congress to push back against the Trump Administration’s efforts to make our air dirtier and our water less clean. Dr. O’Rourke was a farmer who understands the challenges business owners and families face every day as they try to make ends meet and get ahead. I’m proud to endorse Dr. O’Rourke because she will be a different voice in Congress with the experience and vision to make our country safer, fairer, healthier, and more affordable.”

Megan has so far been endorsed by Former NJ Rep. Rush Holt, current Rep. Chellie Pingree in addition to four local unions.
About Dr. Megan O’Rourke
Dr. Megan O’Rourke is running for Congress in New Jersey’s Seventh Congressional District in the Democratic primary. Megan grew up in a family of six in Blairstown. She earned her Ph.D and raised a family while running a small farm before becoming a lead climate scientist at the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). During her time with the USDA, Dr. O’Rourke was a labor leader and fought for working families and their rights. Dr. O’Rourke left the federal government in the Summer of 2025 because she could not work for an administration that was taking America backwards on climate science and setting policies that raise costs and hurt working families.
