Republican David Richter Announces Three
Key Endorsements in CD2 Congressional Race

AVALON, NJ – David Richter, Republican congressional candidate to represent New Jersey’s Second Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced today that he has received the endorsements of three key elected officials in the district.

The endorsements came from Waterford Mayor Bill Richardson, Hammonton Councilman Joe Giralo and Somers Point Councilman James Toto.

“As Mayor I see each day the burden federal regulations place on local government, and the costs those regulations pass on to my residents.  We need common sense leaders in Washington, not career politicians. I’m endorsing David Richter for Congress because as a businessman David understands how to meet a bottom line and will work to make government accountable to the people, not special interests,” said Mayor Richardson.

“David has the right blend of private sector experience, common sense and personal integrity.  I know David is someone who will work to ensure that the issues we care about here in South Jersey, like lower taxes, the Second Amendment and secure borders, are being addressed. Today I’m happy to endorse my friend David for Congress in the Second Congressional District,” said Councilman Giralo.

“David is a strong conservative who will stand with President Trump and take on the liberals and socialists trying to destroy our country. I ran for this seat last year, but next year I will be working to elect David as my Congressman because I know he won’t stop until South Jersey gets its fair share from Washington. David is working side by side with Republicans on the ballot this year, to ensure we turn all of South Jersey red. David is the only candidate in this race who can put together the kind of campaign we need to defeat Jeff Van Drew and fight for We the People,” said Councilman Toto.

“I am grateful to all three of these respected conservative leaders for their early support of my campaign to unseat Jeff Van Drew, who has voted with Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez nearly 90% of the time, while failing to deliver for South Jersey,” said Richter. “While our momentum is building ahead of next year, I am urging all Republicans in South Jersey to focus their energies on electing our great slate of Republican candidates at the state, county and local level this November. The Republican comeback in New Jersey starts now, and I look forward to continuing it next year by winning back this seat.”

New Jersey’s Second Congressional District includes all of Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties as well as parts of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Ocean counties.

Richter is the former CEO of global construction management firm Hill International.  A lifelong Republican, he grew up in and has spent most of his life living and working in South Jersey.  He earned two bachelor’s degrees and a law degree from Penn as well as master’s degrees from Oxford and Harvard.  Richter and his wife Michelle, who have been married for 20 years, are the parents of four daughters.
