Republican Lt. Governor Candidate Diane Allen on Running Mate Assemblyman Ciattarelli: “Not Exactly Sure Where Jack Stands on a Lot of Things”

Here’s Where He Stands — With Bringing Trump’s Agenda To NJ

TRENTON, NJ — Following a lackluster campaign launch, Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor State Senator Diane Allen stood in front of reporters yesterday and made a remarkable statement for someone who just agreed to run for Lieutenant Governor: “I’m not sure exactly where Jack stands on a lot of things.”

As a reminder for Senator Allen, Assemblyman Ciattarelli has spent his entire campaign pandering to Donald Trump’s base and doubling down on extreme policies, which include ending New Jersey’s LGBTQ+ curriculum, promoting tax cuts for millionaires and corporations, restricting reproductive freedom, and embracing dangerous anti-vax conspiracy theories.

The Assemblyman has also headlined a “Stop the Steal” rally similar to those that led to the January 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection, refused to disavow an Oath Keeper candidate on the Republican ticket who attended the insurrection, praised Trump’s disastrous policies, and won’t rule out voting for the former president in 2024.

Given the Senator’s unfamiliarity with Assemblyman Ciattarelli’s extremism, the New Jersey Democratic State Committee is once again demanding answers to this list of questions regarding her position on critical issues:

1. Does Senator Allen agree with Assemblyman Ciattarelli that measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines should be optional in public schools?

2. Would she support Assemblyman Ciattarelli in weakening New Jersey’s gun safety laws to make it easier to carry a concealed weapon?

3. Does she agree with Assemblyman Ciattarelli’s characterization of the state’s LGBTQ inclusive public school curriculum as “teaching sodomy to sixth graders?”

4. Does Senator Allen agree with Assemblyman Ciattarelli and other extreme right Republicans that New Jersey should take steps that make it harder for Black and Brown communities and young people to vote?

5. Would Senator Allen have joined Assemblyman Ciattarelli in speaking at a Trump “Stop the Steal” rally that included white supremacists?

6. Does she believe that Assemblyman Ciattarelli and other Republicans who spread Trump’s lies about the 2020 election contributed to the January 6th U.S. Capitol Insurrection?

7. Does Senator Allen agree with Assemblyman Ciattarelli that the state’s minimum wage increase should be rolled back?

8. Does Senator Allen agree with Assemblyman Ciattarelli that tax rates for millionaires and corporations should be cut at the expense of the middle class?

9. Does Senator Allen think she and Assemblyman Ciattarelli were right in opposing funding for essential women’s health services, which they did multiple times under Chris Christie?

10. If he runs for President again in 2024, would Senator Allen vote for Donald Trump? If not, does it bother her that Assemblyman Ciattarelli won’t rule it out? Did she vote for the Republican presidential nominee in 2016 and 2020?
