Reynolds-Jackson, Verrelli on FY2020 Budget Talks

(TRENTON) – Assembly Democrats Verlina Reynolds-Jackson and Anthony Verrelli issued the following statement on Friday:

“We are working with Speaker Coughlin and our Assembly colleagues to determine the best path forward for New Jersey in regards to the FY2020 spending plan. Our top priority is to find the right solutions to help meet the needs of all New Jerseyans, especially our most vulnerable citizens who rely on essential services.

“To this end, we believe, there are many options on the table and all must be fully considered. The millionaire’s tax is only one of them, and we would certainly support a bill if posted for a vote; however, there’s not enough support in the caucus. A budget bill without the inclusion of the tax would also receive our full support. Devising a fair and balanced budget requires each of us legislators to be open to other solutions brought forward by the Legislature.”
