Robert Quinn Announces Bid For Somerset Freeholder In ‘Must Win Election’ For GOP
(Somerset, NJ) – Robert A. Quinn, 2017 Republican Candidate for State Assembly, announced today that he is seeking the Republican nomination for Somerset County Freeholder next June 2019.
Quinn said of his decision to run, “Like many people who are new to politics, it is the future that my children face that motivates me to run for office.”
“I desire to see the Republican Party present its strongest candidates in this primary to give it the best chance to win this important County election” Quinn said. “Recent changes in the county have resulted in consistent losses putting Somerset County on the brink of Democrat control. Not surprisingly, this has resulted in numerous primary challenge races throughout the County. I am placing my confidence in the primary voters to chart the party on a path toward success.”
Robert continued, “As a graduate of Seton Hall University with a degree in Management Information Systems, my business acumen makes me a qualified candidate for this role. Additionally, I have a proven track record of broadening the Republican party message and widening what it has historically defined as its base support. Ronald Reagan told the Republican to build a big tent. The future of the party in this county and beyond is to live that vision.”
Beyond these qualifications, Robert serves on the Executive Board for the Saint Matthias School Home School Association as well as on the Rutgers Advisory Board for the Center of Innovation Education. He has served in leadership roles on the St Matthias of Somerset Knights of Columbus, which services Franklin Township and the greater community.
One of Quinn’s most passionate topics is education, and he has been active in the last four years opposing the Common Core Curriculum and the PARCC testing initiatives. Robert is the State Chapter President for Parents Involved in Education, a nationwide parent organization aimed at removing Common Core and PARCC. Speaking at the Public Testimonies in Blackwood, NJ and Jackson, NJ, in the early part of 2015, he pointed out that Common Core and PARCC testing are contrary to fostering the love of learning, which should be the goal for every child in the state.
Married and the father of two, Quinn, 43, is an Operations Director for a Data Center and Disaster Recovery firm in North Jersey. In this capacity, he oversees all Crisis Management and day-to-day operations for all northeast facilities. As a member of the Leadership Team, Robert chairs the standardization committee that defines standards for policy/process/procedure globally for the entire department.
Quinn finished “I look forward to meeting members of the public to reinvigorate the party in Somerset County.”
