SACCO ENDORSED CANDIDATES WIN BOE RACE WITH ENORMOUS MARGIN OF VICTORY

Three incumbent North Bergen Board of Education members supported by Mayor Nick Sacco won yesterday’s school board election in dominating fashion, posting a 10-1 advantage over a losing slate backed by Larry Wainstein. Claudia Rodriguez, Sam Jaafar and Ruth Shaw each received approximately 3,500 votes in an unofficial count. Three Wainstein-endorsed candidates received about 300 votes, and an independent candidate finished in fourth with just over 400 votes.
