Scott Salmon Calls Out False Attack Ad

SCOTCH PLAINS, NEW JERSEY — Today, Scott Salmon, a former candidate who previously ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, issued the following statement:

“Over the course of our many forums, debates, and town halls in this campaign, all the candidates pledged to run clean campaigns that were focused on the issues. Each candidate has his or her differences from the competition, to be sure, and each candidate should express them. However, these expressions should be positive and constructive. Creating a false headline that attacks another candidate belies that spirit, and the spirit of the Democratic Party, and violates the pledge each candidate made to each other.

Let’s be explicitly clear: Linda Weber’s attack on Tom Malinowski is an outright falsehood and violates the promise she made to run a clean campaign. I am therefore calling on Linda Weber to immediately cease publication of her ad and publicly apologize to Tom Malinowski for her defamatory, and false, allegations.”
