Senate Majority PAC Launches First Ad In New Jersey Targeting Hugin

PRESS RELEASE

Today, SMP announced its first statewide ad in New Jersey targeting drug company CEO Bob Hugin for supporting Donald Trump’s disastrous plan to gut protections for pre-existing conditions and for routinely helping millionaires and drug company executives like himself at the expense of New Jersey families. Bob Hugin has stood by Donald Trump’s side from day one as a delegate to his campaign and supported his tax plan that gave billions to drug companies and his health care plan that would strip protections for pre-existing conditions. While the CEO of a drug company, Bob Hugin aggressively raised the prices on life-saving cancer drugs and paid himself over $150 million in salary at the expense of cancer patients and hardworking Americans.

“Pharma CEO Bob Hugin is running for Senate, with the millions he made raising prices on cancer patients, to be a kneejerk vote for Donald Trump,” said Chris Hayden, spokesperson for SMP. “With Hugin in the Senate, New Jerseyans with pre-existing conditions could lose their health care while drug companies would continue to get billion dollar payouts and New Jersey taxpayers would continue to have to foot the bill. Bob Hugin spent his career hurting cancer patients, and in the Senate his pro-Trump agenda will hurt New Jersey families.”
