SENATOR VIN GOPAL ENDORSES WELLE FOR CONGRESS
Red Bank, NJ – Josh Welle, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress (NJ-04), has received a new endorsement. New Jersey Senator Vin Gopal, who serves the state’s 11th Legislative District, announced his support for Welle.
“As we saw in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District – Conor Lamb attracted Democrats, Independents and disaffected Republicans in order to win a district that Donald Trump won by 20 points. We now have one more vote to remove Paul Ryan as Speaker of the House of Representatives as a result of many different folks coming together. Josh has served his country in the U.S Navy and has a unique ability to bring people together. A Monmouth County native, Josh’s commitment to growing our economy, standing up for our seniors by protecting social security and fighting to protect our environment makes him a very strong candidate for Congress. I am pleased to follow the Monmouth County Democrats in their endorsement of Josh Welle for Congress.”
Senator Gopal is the youngest member of the New Jersey State Senate. His November 2017 election was considered an upset, unseating incumbent Jennifer Beck. Prior to that, he served as Monmouth County Democratic Chairman from 2012 to 2017.
“I’m grateful to Senator Gopal for his endorsement. We are both striving to serve our communities as next-generation leaders, and I’m glad to have his support as I work to bring fresh ideas to New Jersey’s 4th District,” Welle said in a statement.
