Singh to InsiderNJ.com – “I’m the only conservative in the race”

Princeton – Engineer, businessman, problem-solver and gubernatorial candidate Hirsh Singh today responded to a new article on InsiderNJ.com characterizing Jack Ciatarelli as a “conservative” as a laughable idea.

“I’m the only conservative in the race.  I’m the only candidate proud to be a conservative.  And consequently, I’m the only Republican candidate who can win in November,” Singh said.

Singh said he is pro-life, opposed to funding Planned Parenthood, completely supportive of the second amendment, a strong supporter of the right-to-work, and a clear opponent of tax increases and cap-and-trade schemes.

“Neither Kim Guadgano nor Jack Ciatarelli can unify the Republican Party and build a coalition capable of defeating Phil Murphy in November,” Singh said.  “Jack’s goal is explicitly not conservative.  He says he wants to “trick” the Democrats and run to the left of Murphy.”

Singh said the real trick would be on the Republican Party.  “Jack Ciatarelli’s massive tax increase and new income tax brackets will turn off Republican voters and worsen the state’s economic crisis.  That’s a recipe for historic Republican losses up and down the ticket,” Singh said.

But Singh argued Guadagno is no better… and may be worse.

“Kim supports cap-and trade and has no plan to reform the school funding formula once-and-for-all, Singh said.  “Worst of all, neither Jack nor Kim will take a firm stand against Obamacare — the one issue that has united and animated Republicans everywhere for the last 8 years.”

“There is no path to Drumthwacket for liberal Republicans like Kim and Jack,” Singh said.  “I offer an authentically conservative platform and a fresh perspective on the problems confronting New Jerseyans.  My commitment to New Jersey is to be the conservative problem solver we need, not another politician too afraid to take a stand.”
