Soup Kitchen 411 Launches FeedNJ Campaign Co-Chaired by Speaker Coughlin & Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole

RED BANK, NJ-Soup Kitchen 411 announced the launch of its FeedNJ, a new campaign helping connect local restaurants with soup kitchens to feed families affected by the COVID-19 Crisis. Co-Chairing FeedNJ will be Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole.

All funds raised in the Feed NJ campaign go directly to pay for warm meals from local restaurants and eateries, who will then deliver the food to a local soup kitchen.

FeedNJ’s mission is to serve more New Jerseyians with warm meals while also helping to sustain local food establishments during these difficult times.

“Even without the COVID-19 pandemic, too many families in New Jersey are constantly faced with food insecurity and hunger,” said Speaker Craig Coughlin. “Since being elected Speaker in 2018,  I have made the battle against hunger a top priority for our legislature and the state.”

Soup Kitchen 411, was founded by Ken DeRoberts in 2015 with the goal of connecting soup kitchens with those neighbors in need of a warm meal. DeRoberts said “100 percent” of money raised will go towards buying food from restaurants.

“I am so excited to be launching this two pronged campaign meant to both provide food for soup kitchens and a boost for restaurants during this time of need,” said Founder Ken DeRoberts. “I am so grateful to Speaker Craig Coughlin and Port Authority Chairman Kevin O’Toole for their desire to help spearhead the effort.”

“I appreciate FeedNJ’s unique approach of bringing together local restaurants who have been facing their own challenges through this pandemic to help assist those soup kitchens that are seeing a huge shortage of food,” said Chairman Kevin O’Toole. “Creative approaches are going to be essential in helping New Jersey pull through this tough time.”
