Speaker Coughlin Statement on Redistricting Measure

(TRENTON) – Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin issued the following statement Monday on the Senate Budget Committee advancing a redistricting resolution today:

“In the next 20 days, the Assembly will consider the redistricting resolution (ACR-205) including the consideration of the amendment put forth by the Senate today. While I support the concept of improving the redistricting process, the voters of our State will be provided the opportunity to approve the proposed changes or leave in place the current process.

“New Jersey has led the way for decades with a progressive reappointment model and we will continue to ensure that each vote cast carries the same weight as others.”
