State Environmental Group Supports Eustace for Senate Seat

With the announcement that State Senator Bob Gordon will be nominated as a commissioner at the Board of Public Utilities (BPU), Food & Water Action—the political arm of the advocacy group Food & Water Watch—is endorsing Assemblyman Tim Eustace to fill Gordon’s vacant Senate seat.

Food & Water Action Senior Organizer Matt Smith released the following statement:

“Assemblyman Tim Eustace has been a champion on key environmental issues during his time in the Assembly, and his vocal leadership makes him the right choice to continue Senator Gordon’s legacy of fighting for clean water and a healthy environment for all New Jerseyans. This year, Assemblyman Eustace introduced the NJ Off Fossil Fuels Act (A1823), the most aggressive clean energy and climate legislation in state history, which calls for a 100% renewable electricity system by the year 2035.

“Assemblyman Eustace has been a true leader in his time in the Legislature and as chair of the Assembly Environment Committee, and has developed deep relationships with the progressive community across the state. We wholeheartedly endorse him to fill Gordon’s seat, and are eager to see him in a new role as a champion for social and environmental justice in the Senate.”
