“New Jersey saw tonight why Mikie Sherrill continues a steady lead in this race: her lifelong commitment to service, strong record getting big things done, and her ability to beat Trump Republicans at every turn. While her opponents argued about the past, Mikie focused on the future. Now Republicans are afraid to go up against Mikie in November because she knows how to win and then deliver for New Jerseyans. On the other hand, the mayors in this race have never run against a Republican — much less beaten one. In the final stretch of the campaign, Mikie is going to continue showing how her different kind of leadership can stand up to Trump and create a different path forward for New Jersey where every family, no matter where they live, can get ahead.”
