Statement from Commissioner Zimmerman on the Passing of Former Governor Dick Codey

TRENTON – New Jersey Department of Banking and Insurance Commissioner Justin Zimmerman today released the following statement on the passing of Governor Dick Codey:

“I am saddened by the loss of Governor Codey, who devoted a lifetime to serving the people of New Jersey. With an unwavering commitment to standing up for the underdog, his work to advance mental health policy reflected a deep belief in compassion, dignity, and the importance of caring for one another. We learned from his example that leadership is rooted in empathy and integrity. New Jersey is better because of his service, and his impact will be felt for generations. My thoughts are with his family, loved ones, and all who were touched by Governor Codey’s remarkable life as a public servant.”
