TRENTON – Governor Mikie Sherrill joined Senate President Nicholas P. Scutari, Assembly Speaker Craig J. Coughlin, Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz, and Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson in issuing the following statement on A-5641/S-4863, the 'Election Integrity and Voter Protection Act,' which was held for further review before a Senate vote:

“In contrast to the Trump Administration’s efforts to restrict voting access, we remain committed to keeping New Jersey’s elections free, fair, and secure. To that end, we will continue our collaboration on the Election Integrity and Voter Protection Act.

“As eligible New Jerseyans cast their ballots, the Office of the Attorney General is working around the clock to ensure voters are protected and remain fully prepared to respond to any instance of intimidation or interference.

“The electoral process is the cornerstone of our democracy, and we will continue fighting to ensure every New Jerseyan feels confident when exercising their right to vote.”
