Statement from Michael K. Drulis, Chair of the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee, on the Passing of Congressman Richard Alan “Dick” Zimmer

The Hunterdon County Democratic Committee extends its sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Richard Alan “Dick” Zimmer upon his passing.

A resident of Delaware Township, Congressman Zimmer served the people of New Jersey with distinction, representing the 12th Congressional District, which included Hunterdon County, in the United States House of Representatives. Prior to his service in Congress, he was a member of the New Jersey Legislature, where he worked on issues affecting counties and municipalities across our state, including those impacting Hunterdon County’s communities, infrastructure, and local governance.

Congressman Zimmer demonstrated a longstanding commitment to public service and to the civic life of Hunterdon County through representative government and the responsibilities that come with elected office.

At this time of loss, we join residents across Hunterdon County and New Jersey in recognizing Congressman Zimmer’s contributions to public life and in extending our sympathies to the Zimmer family.

Sincerely,

Michael K. Drulis

Chair, Hunterdon County Democratic Committee
