Statement from NJDSC Chairman LeRoy Jones

ONE DAY CLOSER . . .
Last week, I released a statement along with Burlington County Democratic Committee Chair Matt Riggins and Monmouth County Democrats Chair Dyese Davis questioning the NJGOP’s decision to start advancing voter fraud conspiracy theories with their announcement of a “NJGOP Election Integrity Task Force”.
I’m still not sure what was more puzzling, their decision to join the MAGA Republican efforts to create confusion and cast doubt around fair elections or the fact that it took them so long to get there.
The NJGOP is starting to beat the “Trump voter fraud” false claim drum because they are hoping that noise will drown out real questions families across New Jersey are asking every day.
Questions about Trump’s unauthorized never-ending war and ever-rising gas prices and MAGA Republicans in Congress ongoing refusal to release the Epstein files and unwillingness to stand against families being snatched from our streets, even as they request another one billion dollars of our money to build a ballroom.
Of course, the biggest and loudest drums in the world could not drown out those questions, but that will not prevent our counterparts from flailing away to try and appease their MAGA base with false claims of mass voter fraud.
But the truth is that voter fraud is not their problem, terrible policies that are crushing families around the country and an inability to stand against the immeasurable madness coming from the White House are the real issues.
Unfortunately, with last week’s announcement, New Jersey Republicans have decided to join the conga line of sycophants bending to the will of a Mad King, seemingly taking direction through late night Truth Social posts.
I am here to tell you from the Chairman’s Corner, New Jersey Democrats will remain vigilant and focused while we continue to expand our tent with new ideas and unwavering focus on making people’s lives better and more hopeful.
Those efforts begin with our new governor, Mikie Sherrill, and our ever-expanding Democratic legislature. Our Party’s ideals demand we stand against tyranny and oppression, and our Party’s ideas give us the ability to make a true difference.
With municipal elections over and one eye on June’s primary elections, our Democratic State Committee Executive Director, Dave Parano, is diligently preparing for the day after, June 3rd, and the work we will all need to do in preparation of November’s elections.
Today we are one day closer to November 3rd, which means we are one day closer to taking back the House of Representatives and the United States Senate and restoring some sanity to each of our lives.
I look forward to seeing you out on the trail.
