“I am horrified and heart-broken over the shootings in Minnesota, acts of political violence leading to the deaths of State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband and the wounding of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife. I pray for the Hoffmans’ full recovery. I urge my colleagues of all political stripes to lower the temperature of our public discourse so as not to fuel further acts of political violence.”
