Statement from the SEIU NJ State Council

SEIU NJ State Council Congratulates Senator Booker and Democratic Congressional Election Winners, Champions of Working families, Labor Rights and Social Justice

Statement from the SEIU NJ State Council

Newark, NJ – "New Jersey voters made clear that they want leaders who listen and respect workers’ rights, protect vital public services, and create an economy that works for everyone.  As a collective of over 20,000 members, we endorsed and supported candidates that addressed the rising cost of living, and are fighting for policies that make housing, healthcare, and everyday essentials more affordable.

The Council would especially like to congratulate Congressman-elect Zack Mullock on his significant victory and wish him success as he prepares to represent the residents of New Jersey's 2nd Congressional District.  We look forward to working with him in expanding opportunity and protecting workers' rights.

As they prepare to take office, the SEIU NJ State Council looks forward to working with our elected representatives to advance policies that ensure every worker has the opportunity not just to survive, but to thrive.  We are proud to have mobilized and galvanized communities across New Jersey on their behalf, but we know that our work does not end on Election Day.  Our endorsement is not a blank check.  We will continue organizing, advocating, and holding elected officials accountable to the working families who entrusted them with their vote.
