Statement by Governor Murphy on Tentative Contract Agreement Between Rutgers University and AAUP-AFT

04/17/2019
“The tentative deal reached between Rutgers University and the 4,800 members of Rutgers AAUP-AFT is not only good news for students and faculty, but moves our state’s flagship university closer to being a true model for fairness, diversity, and pay equity. I applaud both sides for their willingness to push forward to a resolution and avoid disruption to the end of the semester. Although I recognize that Rutgers’ leadership continues to negotiate with additional collective bargaining units, the agreement struck last night shows the importance of measured dialogue and partnership in reaching our shared goals.”
