Statement from Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE Local 825, on Gateway Tunnel:

“The latest announcement regarding the Gateway Tunnel is a disappointing one. A project of this magnitude cannot be built without federal funds. Millions of travelers, commuters and visitors to the region depend on the Hudson River tunnels to safely get around, access jobs, and deliver goods in to the entire Northeast Corridor.

It is our hope that the all the entities and parties involved can quickly come to an equitable and amicable agreement to begin work on what would be an economic and transportation game changer to the region.”
