JERSEY CITY — “I want to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all of the winning candidates in today’s Primary Election and my appreciation to every single Democratic voter who took time out of their busy life to participate in our democracy. As Democrats we all share in the values of inclusiveness, equality and respect for the democratic process, and I look forward to working with all of the new and returning members of our County Committee to continue moving our party and our county forward.

It is particularly exciting to be able to congratulate my father and our County Executive Tom DeGise on winning the Democratic nomination for a new term in office, along with a team of truly exceptional leaders we can be proud of in Sheriff Frank Schillari, Surrogate nominee Tilo Rivas and Assembly members Nicholas Chiaravalloti, Angela McKnight, Angelica Jimenez, Pedro Mejia, Raj Mukheri and Annette Chaparro.

I would also like to personally thank East Newark Mayor Joe Smith for his long and distinguished career of dedicated service to his community, and for his steadfast support during last year’s Democratic Chair contest.
