Steve Fulop and Edison Democratic Slate Led by Lav Patel Announce Mutual Endorsements, Building New Coalition Against Political Establishment
The hometown team joins forces to take on entrenched insiders and deliver new leadership for Edison and New Jersey
EDISON, N.J. — Today, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop announced the endorsement of Edison’s full Democratic ticket, led by mayoral candidate Lav Patel and council candidates Jayesh Mehta, Yingnan (Ingrid) Chen, and Anthony DeAmorin.
At the same time, Fulop announced his full support for the local slate, highlighting a shared commitment to break from the political establishment and deliver a new era of leadership for Edison and for New Jersey.
Fulop, who grew up in Edison and graduated from John P. Stevens High School, called the alliance a personal and political homecoming.
"Edison is where I come from. It is where I learned what it means to work hard, serve others, and fight for what is right," said Fulop. "Lav Patel and his team are building a new future for Edison. They are not tied to the political insiders who have held this community back. They are fighting for the people of Edison, and I am proud to fight alongside them."
Patel, Mehta, Chen, and DeAmorin are challenging the entrenched local machine with a message of transparency, community focus, and real accountability. Their campaigns represent a clean break from the status quo. Their commitment to restoring trust in local government mirrors Fulop’s statewide movement for change.
In a newly redesigned ballot position, voters have a clear choice for a new generation of leadership.
"Steve Fulop is one of us. He grew up here, he knows what makes Edison special, and he is not afraid to take on the establishment to get results," said Lav Patel. "We are proud to support Steve’s campaign for governor because he is fighting the same fight we are. Together, we will deliver the leadership that Edison and New Jersey deserve."
The mutual endorsements and unified campaign effort underscore a powerful momentum building in Edison and across Middlesex County. With Fulop, Patel, Mehta, Chen, and DeAmorin leading the way, voters are being offered a real alternative to politics as usual, one that puts working families, not political insiders, first.
