Appointed to New Jersey Tourism Industry Association Board of Directors
Somers Point & Haddonfield, NJ – August 9, 2019 – Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, president of the award-winning, New Jersey-based agency Suasion Communications Group, was recently appointed to New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) Board of Directors.
“We’re proud to have Susan join our team of like-minded professionals, and are looking forward to the ideas and experience she’ll be bringing to the Board,” said NJTIA President of the Board of Directors Adam Perle.
NJTIA advocates for enhanced government support for tourism in the state by educating elected and appointed officials about the industry, its economic benefit to the state and the role that those employed by and for the industry add to the quality of life for every citizen of New Jersey.
“I am honored to join the NJTIA Board and look forward to advocating for New Jersey’s vibrant tourism industry,” said Adelizzi-Schmidt.

Earlier this year, Suasion was awarded a 2019 Bulldog PR (Industry) Award, as well as a 2018 Tourism Excellence Award from the New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA).

Adelizzi-Schmidt has also been recognized with several awards and accolades for individual achievement. In 2018 she was awarded a FOLIO: Top Women in Media Award, which recognizes the women trailblazers, leaders, advocates and mentors of the industry. She is also a recipient of the 2015 Philadelphia Business Journal’s South Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2014, she was selected for the Stockton University’s School of Graduate Studies Professional Achievement Award.
Currently, Adelizzi-Schmidt is a Doctoral Candidate (Organizational Leadership) at Stockton University in Galloway, NJ, where she also completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA). She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English (dual degree) from Arcadia University in Glenside, PA. She is also a 2017 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses [10KSB] Initiative.
In addition to her professional career as an entrepreneur, she also serves as a Stockton University School of Business Adjunct Professor, where she inspires young minds with insightful, real-world lessons. Additionally, Susan shares her business knowledge at well-received seminars and workshops that take place regularly at schools, universities, industry associations and business organizations.
Adelizzi-Schmidt generously volunteers her time mentoring students and is involved in many community, civic and business endeavors throughout New Jersey and the Philadelphia region. A mother of two dynamic young adults who also share a love for volunteering, she and they have devoted many holidays to helping the less fortunate by preparing meals for area senior citizens. She also has participated in ‘Over the Edge’ for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, by rappelling down 17 stories of the Sheraton Hotel in Atlantic City, NJ to benefit young children in need of mentors.
Adelizzi-Schmidt serves on the Downtown New Jersey Board of Directors and is a member and mentor in Stockton University Women’s Leadership Council. Additionally, she chaired the Upper Township Economic Development Advisory Commission and is immediate past Chair of the Cape May County Women’s Commission; she also serves as an active member of the Somers Point Business Association, Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce, and she serves as an Atlantic Cape Community College Communication Advisory Board member.
Adelizzi-Schmidt made history as the first female from either party to win a nomination and run for State Senate in the history of New Jersey’s First Legislative District (Cape/Cumberland/Atlantic). Her hard-fought campaign platform focused attention on job creation, economic development, women’s advocacy and addressing the substance abuse epidemic in her region.
