Sussex County GOP calls out Murphy non-profit for giving money to illegals while stiffing Sussex and Warren Counties.

Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in Congress stiffed the hardworking taxpayers of Sussex and Warren Counties.  The formula they chose to allocate CARES ACT funding to fight COVID-19 gave NOTHING to Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, and Salem Counties.  Democrats in Congress like Josh Gottheimer and Mikie Sherrill voted for Pelosi’s formula and let us get stiffed.

Now our citizens have been forgotten once again.  The Wall Street Journal reported that a non-profit set up by Tammy Murphy (Governor’ Murphy’s wife) and her wealthy celebrity friends has raised millions to give to illegal immigrants affected economically by the COVID shutdown, but average citizens in Sussex and Warren Counties still get NOTHING.  The Wall Street Journal reported:

The New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund is providing $4.5 million in direct-cash assistance to illegal immigrants who have lost work because of the coronavirus and been excluded from other pandemic relief efforts.

The New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, founded by the state’s first lady Tammy Murphy, is working with more than a dozen organizations… to distribute the funds.

The program… gives families of three or more $1,000 in the form of a preloaded Visa debit card. Families of two or individuals can get $500, according to the fund.

“The harsh reality is that tens of thousands of families across our state have a total income insufficient to meet their needs even in good times,” Ms. Murphy said.

Congressman Josh Gottheimer and Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill are nowhere to be found, and have willfully turned a blind eye to the hardworking taxpayers and business owners they claim to represent. While New Jersey sinks into despair and disrepair, his wife’s non-profit sends cash payments directly into the wallets of illegal aliens and bypasses those who have lost their jobs and benefits through a government-ordered shutdown. This pandemic relief fund is ignoring  honest and hard-working New Jerseyans. Where are the Governor’s priorities? Not with the people of Sussex and Warren.

Gottheimer and Sherill worked arm in arm with Nancy Pelosi to develop the formula for the inequitable CARES Act. The CARES Act left four New Jersey counties without any funding — including Sussex and Warren. This blatant disregard for their constituents reveals their true priorities. Instead of protecting the best interests of the people they were elected to represent, they have become an extension of the radical left’s do-nothing Democrats.

Murphy, Gottheimer, and Sherill have a lot of explaining to do. The people of Sussex and Warren Counties deserve better.  These so-called “progressive” Democrats should put partisan politics aside and get the relief they promised to Sussex and Warren Counties — no strings attached!
