Sweeney Celebrates ‘Top Off’ of Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital’s Phase II Transformation

Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney attended Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital’s celebration marking the “Top Off” of Phase II of its transformation project. This is the second and final phase of an initiative that will total over $200 million in campus improvements and development.

“What the people and president of Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital have been able to accomplish here will be life changing for the residents in this community,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “Their investments are already spurring the local economy, but beyond that, these new and improved facilities will raise the standard of medical care in this region for years to come.”

The Key Components of Phase II are: existing East Administration Wing, new Patient Tower (7 stories with 90 private beds), new Critical Care & Intensive Care Unit (60 private beds), medical surgical beds, all private patient rooms, new surgical suites, new cafeteria in Patient Pavilion, expanded capacity of Central Plant Utility, and a new Patient Pavilion addition.

“This has always been a community focused project,” said Joe Devine, President of Jefferson Health New Jersey. “We could not have done it without the cooperation and commitment from local, county and state officials like the Senate President. I hope we can continue to work together on improving and expanding services, not only to the region but the entire State of New Jersey.”

Jefferson Health New Jersey is an integrated healthcare delivery system providing a full continuum of healthcare services, ranging from acute-care hospitals to a broad spectrum of outpatient and wellness programs. A multi-site healthcare provider, Jefferson Health New Jersey serves the residents of Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties.
