Sweeney & Diegnan Tour Domino’s New Supply Chain Facility

Edison – Today Senate President Steve Sweeney, Senator Patrick J. Diegnan, Jr. and Councilman Joseph A. Coyle toured the new D0mino’s supply chain warehouse in the Raritan Center section of Edison.

“We are glad that Domino’s chose New Jersey to become the home for one of its first warehouses in a decade,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “This will create good paying jobs for people in Central Jersey. We want to do all that we can to attract and retain jobs and promote economic growth.”

Assemblywoman Nancy Pinkin and Assemblyman Robert J. Karabinchak joined the senators and councilman on the tour.

“It’s no surprise that Dominos chose to locate one of its main distribution facilities in Central Jersey,” said Senator Diegnan (D-Middlesex). “The area affords excellent access to major interstate arteries and is home to many skilled professionals. We’re only a few hours away from Boston and Washington, and we know our pizza.”

Domino’s has grown by 50% over the last five years, and the warehouse in Edison is one of two that have been built by Domino’s for the first time in over a decade.  The site is 182,000 square feet and is used for food processing and distribution.  The location takes advantage of the state’s key asset as a transportation hub.

“Any time a company wants to invest in your township it is something to be happy about,” said Councilman Joseph A. Coyle, who also serves as the President of the Edison Chamber of Commerce. “Domino’s has brought countless jobs to the region and we look forward to having them here for years to come.”

Domino’s Pizza is the largest pizza company in the world based on global retail sales, with a significant business in both delivery and carryout pizza. Domino’s had global retail sales of over $12.2 billion in 2017, with more than $5.9 billion in the U.S. and more than $6.3 billion internationally. Its system is comprised of independent franchise owners who accounted for over 97% of Domino’s stores as of the second quarter of 2018.
