Trenton – Senate President Steve Sweeney issued the following statement on the tragic death of Samantha Josephson, the University of South Carolina student from New Jersey who was killed after getting into a vehicle she believed was a Uber ride:

 

“The senseless death of Samantha Josephson is a tragedy that tears at the hearts of every parent. My condolences go out to Seymour and Marci Josephson, the Josephson family, and to everyone who knew and loved Samantha.

 

“This is a devastating loss for Robbinsville and the University of South Carolina, tight-knit communities where everyone cares for each other. We must continue to look out for each other’s safety and wellbeing. Samantha’s tragic passing brings us all together in shared feelings of grief and loss. She will be forever remembered as a beautiful young woman with a generous sense of purpose.”
