Sweeney Statement on Governor Murphy’s Renomination of Associate Justice Anne M. Patterson to the the New Jersey Supreme Court

I support Justice Patterson’s renomination as an associate justice of the New Jersey Supreme Court. She has served the court and the State of New Jersey well these past seven years. In renominating Justice Patterson, Governor Murphy is reaffirming New Jersey’s commitment to a qualified judiciary, regardless of party affiliation.

The state Senate has a responsibility to vet and then confirm or reject judicial nominations based on their qualifications. I look forward to seeing Justice Patterson confirmed to a second term.
