ICYMI: Tahesha Way Rallies CD-11 Voters with Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and New Jersey Leaders Ahead of Election Day
“When Donald Trump tried to rip New Jerseyans’ voting rights away, I fought back — and won.”
WAYNE, NJ – Last night, former Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State Tahesha Way joined Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas, Assemblywoman Cleopatra Tucker, Olympian Leslie Maxie, Councilwoman Fran Ritter, Clinton Mayor Janice Kovach, and Way’s daughter, Farrah Way for a Get Out The Vote rally in Montclair mobilizing voters across New Jersey’s Eleventh Congressional District as early voting came to a close and the campaign launched its final push to turn out voters on Election Day Thursday.

Speakers underscored the stakes of the election for New Jerseyans as Donald Trump and his allies send violent ICE raids into our communities, attack our fundamental rights, and drive up costs for working families. Speakers highlighted Way’s proven record of standing up to Trump, defending New Jerseyans’ rights, and delivering real results for families across New Jersey — and called on voters to turn out and make their voices heard.

“I didn’t just talk about protecting democracy — I delivered,” said Tahesha Way. “I expanded early voting, vote-by-mail, and voter registration, and when Donald Trump tried to undo that progress, I stood my ground and won.”

The Montclair rally marked the end of early voting and kicked off the campaign’s final push ahead of Election Day, as volunteers and supporters mobilize across CD-11 to turn out every eligible vote and ensure New Jersey voters make their voices heard at the polls.
