Tedesco Visits Local Elementary Schools to Participate in Read Across America

(Bergen County)- This week, Bergen County Executive Jim Tedesco participated in Read Across America to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

The County Executive had the pleasure of reading to students at Parkway Elementary in Paramus, School #3 in Cliffside Park, Washington Elementary in Lodi, and the Great Bergen Community Action Head Start preschools in Hackensack and Bergenfield.

A few of the books he read include “One Vote, Two Vote, I Vote, You Vote,” “Hop on Pop,” and “Oh the Places You Will Go.” At Parkway Elementary, the County Executive’s granddaughter Brynn helped him read to her first grade class.

Since its inception in 1997, Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program sponsored by the National Education Association, that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.
